This photograph submitted by Ann dates from around the 40's.
It shows the demolition of shops in St Oswald's Street by the Old Swan junction. At the time St Oswald's Street at this point was a narrow single carriageway.
Ann remembers the sad occasion when her parents took her there to see the shop, they had once owned, being demolished.
The flats (the modern brick construction) can be seen in the background. These were also demolished to make way for a Tesco supermarket, around about 2001 after remaining empty for some years.
