Walton Church or more correctly St Mary, Walton on the Hill. Sited at the top of Bedford road, a long straight road running down into Bootle.
The existing church was rebuilt following the may blitz of 1941.
There has been a church on this site since Domesday times, if not before, when Walton was known as Wale tone.
