Islington Market
This is a drawing of Islington Market. The market established in 1818 at the top of Shaws brow, the site is now occupied by The Wellington Column. When St John's Market opened in 1822 Islington Market started to decline, matters were made worse when Gill Market opened in 1843, and by 1856 it was demolished.
