A view of the Beacon. Primarily a flue or chimney to St Johns shopping centre, a corner of which can be seen to the right of the picture. Originally a rotating restaurant (opened in 1971) capped the chimney but after remaining unused for some years following a fire in 1984, it is now occupied by the local commercial radio station; Radio City. Lazer lights and fireworks have in the past been launched from the top.
