The Woodchurch Mersey ferry at the Pier Head landing stage. The present landing stage replaces one reputedly to be the largest floating stage in the world, which was damaged during a storm.
Originally the ferries were an integral part of the transport system. Now they are used as a tourist attraction and take passengers on a short cruise up and down the river calling at Seacombe and Woodside terminals.

Hear the sound of a ferry coming along side the landing stage.
