Palm House

Photos Two

Liverpool's historic Palm House in Sefton Park. Built to display exotic plants and trees about 100 years ago, it is a fine example of Victorian architecture. Although a Grade II listed building it has in recent times fallen victim to neglect and vandalism and is showing its age. However around £2.4m is to be spent in restoring the building to its former glory, work should be completed by 2001. As can be seen in the photograph the work of stripping out the remaining glass is almost finished.

When the refurbishment is complete it will be licensed for weddings and receptions.
