View from the beacon in the direction of the Anglican Cathedral.
In the forground in Ranelagh Street is Central Station, the frontage of which has changed to incorporate a shopping centre.
The Lyceum to the right of the station remains architecturally unchanged but is (year 2000) used as a cafe and Post Office.
The 'Gas Board' offices 'Radiant House' in Bold Street (Lightgreen roof to the R/H of the photo) are now occupied by various shops, none of which are connected with the Gas Board.
The 'bombed out church' can just be be seen at the top of Bold Street (top L/H side of the photo).
