The Mansion House and Calderstones Park.

The area now known as Calderstones Park was sold around 1726 to settle family debts, it was part of the original 1583-acre Manor of Allerton. Some time after 1726 the Liverpool merchant Thomas Martin became the owner. He added to the estate before selling in 1825 to Joseph Need Walker, the principal building was then known as 'The Old House'. By 1828 the Old House had been swept aside to make way for the Mansion House. In 1875 the house became the home of the Charles McIver, a shipping magnate. In 1902 the house was sold to Liverpool Corporation.
The Mansion House now a Grade II-listed building houses council offices, and was until recently the headquarters of the city's Parks and Gardens Department, it is the centrepiece of Calderstones Park.

There is still a Ha Ha situated to the front of the Mansion House it cannot be seen here but is between the camera and the house. The lawns of the house are now a popular recreational area.
